Dit is een fantastische all round Schotse whiskey dat ik al sinds 2011 in mijn bezit heb. Deze oude editie is moeilijk te vinden. Het is altijd bewaard in totale duisternis en op een constante temperatuur. Deze fles is ongeopend en nog steeds verzegeld. 

Smaakprofiel (ENG)

s you take a sniff, you'll likely detect floral notes, including delicate rose petals, and faint pear drops. Additional scents include buttery shortbread, with hints of almond oil and a touch of damp forest floor. A background aroma of faintly charred oak may also be present. Overall, the nose promises a smooth, approachable experience.

Palate:

Your first sip introduces a generous mouthfeel, which is typical of Glenlivet 12. You're likely to find initial flavors of vanilla custard, apricot jam, and soft citrus (lemons). In the mid-palate, the influence of ex-bourbon American white oak barrels imparts more fruity and zesty characteristics, along with gentle spicy elements such as black pepper. Overall, the palate remains well-integrated and enjoyably balanced, highlighting the house style of Glenlivet.

Finish:

As you swirl your glass and breathe deeply before taking another sip, anticipate a finish that echoes the preceding flavors, with a satisfying length. While still relatively young compared to older expressions, this whiskey should offer a pleasant fade-out. The gentle warmth will linger comfortably, allowing the last traces of apricot marmalade and honey to linger until your next sip.
