Dit is een top whiskey uit Schotland. Deze fles dateert uit 2015. Het is altijd bewaard in totale duisternis en op een constante temperatuur. Deze fles is ongeopend en nog steeds verzegeld. 

Smaakprofiel (ENG)

On the nose (smell), you might find initial scents reminiscent of fresh grass, cut herbs, and a slightly sweet, fruity note that carries over from the bourbon barrel aging. The presence of sherry casks should contribute additional layers of complexity, yielding deeper, darker notes such as damp earth, roasted nuts, and maybe a hint of stewed prunes or raisins.

When sipping, expect a medium-weight body with a smooth, velvety texture. The entry of the spirit should bring forward a mixture of crisp, green apple-like acidity combined with gentle salinity and a touch of floral perfume. This should quickly transition to a midpalate featuring bolder sherry characteristics, encompassing figgy richness, gingerbread spiciness, and perhaps a subtle bitterness from the oloroso influence. In contrast, the underlying peat element should remain relatively subdued compared to other Islay whiskies, adding just enough savory depth without dominating the overall profile.

The finish could last around five to ten seconds, ending on a slightly dry and dusty note accented by cracked black peppercorns, espresso grounds, and subtle umami savoriness. This balance of sweet and savory elements along with a slight tanginess should leave behind a pleasing impression.
